Pharmacology: Norgestrel is a progestogen derived from nortestosterone while ethinylestradiol is a synthetic oestrogen. When used together, they inhibit ovulation, and affect other changes such as changes in the cervical mucus and the endometrium, which makes conception unfavourable.
